Mehwish Hayat, the renowned Pakistani actress and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient, recently expressed her strong displeasure over a music concert held in Islamabad. A video from the concert was shared on the social media platform Twitter. Along with the video, a question was raised: “Is COVID-19 only a concern in educational institutions?”
In response to the tweet, Mehwish Hayat wrote, “It is very disappointing to hold a live music concert with so many people when we are still not free from the global pandemic of COVID-19.”
The actress further added, “The dangerous cases of COVID-19 are once again on the rise, and now we are facing the third wave of this pandemic.”
She urged, “Let’s be responsible individuals, because health is wealth.”
It is noteworthy that due to the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, smart lockdowns have been implemented in three sectors of Islamabad, and schools have been closed. Those not wearing masks will face fines ranging from 1,000 to 35,000 rupees. So far, Islamabad has reported 48,081 COVID-19 cases, with 526 deaths due to the virus.
